being blackety black on camera:

that time…

…I talked to Project UROK about my experiences with depression, treatment, support systems, and self-care.

and then that time…

…I stopped by ESSENCE Now to discuss “the differences in how Black and White people view racism, why White people are so bothered by the phrase ‘Black lives matter,’ and how we can finally end white supremacy.”

& that one time…

…I spoke with AfroLatino historian Dash Harris about living and finding my roots in Panama amid colorism, racism and discrimination. (NEGRO Documentary)

and the time…

I spoke with BEAM Executive Director Yolo Akili Robinson about the intersection of mental health and social justice.

(it was a whole thing.)

and also when…

That time I spoke with Jasmine Powers about self-care and resources for Black and Brown folks, and what’s on the horizon for my creative wellness agency, GetSomeJoy.

oh! and the time…

The Each-Other Project chose me as their feature of the month!

Black In the Garden: Grounded via Plant Parenthood: Prequel w/ Alexander Hardy

We continue our conversation with Alexander Hardy in the pre-quel from 2020 when he first became a proud plant dad. The theme of mental health prevailed as Alex candidly delved into first experiences with depression during his residence in Panama (land of his grandmother). We learn more about his struggles with homelessness in NYC while becoming a mental health advocate and striving to find a home of his own to feel safe enough to become a plant parent.
